Built around a rugged frame, the clamp travels smoothly on a set of bottom and top wheels. Guides at the front help center the tool into the adjoining pipe section. Once in position, three machined side arms\u2014two upper and one lower\u2014ensure both pipe ends are properly aligned by contouring to the pipe\u2019s internal wall. The side arms are pushed outward by toggle bars connected to a hydraulic cylinder, which is activated by turning the attached reach rod. Two brass latches automatically lock the clamp into place at the correct position, eliminating guesswork and holding the tool steady during alignment.<\/p>\n
The hydraulic mechanism uses a manual pump to expand the toggle bars, providing consistent and powerful force to press the side arms against the pipe interior. Each clamp is machined to match specific internal wall thicknesses, allowing for close-tolerance alignment.
