Proline Pipe Equipment Inc. invented the Plastic Pipe Stand over 25 years ago. Proline\u2019s 12″ \u2013 36″ stackable plastic pipe stand is the current \u201cSuperman\u201d of the industry.\u00a0 When designing this stand, Proline engineers gave it a \u201cstar\u201d shape and that contributes to its strength.\u00a0 Others have copied that design and followed suit.\u00a0 These stands were tested on a third party press until they failed due to extreme pressure.\u00a0 Increments of 5,000 lbs. (2,268 kg.) were applied.<\/p>\n
When the weight reached 65,000 lbs. (29,480 kg.) there was no change in the stand.\u00a0 So we went to 70,000 lbs.\u00a0 At 75,000 lbs.\u00a0 we saw a slight wave but the stand endured. So we went to 80,000 lbs. and more waves appeared.\u00a0 We went to 90,000 and crushed the stand.\u00a0 \u00a0After 5 minutes, with the weight removed, the stand took back its shape.\u00a0 That surprised us, so we decided to try weight on the damaged stand to see when it would fail.\u00a0 We made it up to 65,000 lbs. on the damaged stand, before the waves returned.<\/p>\n
We didn\u2019t just test 1 stand.\u00a0 We tested multiple stands and the results were the same.\u00a0 We took the results of the tests and rated this stand with a 5:1 safe working load capacity.\u00a0 Safety is our highest priority and Proline\u2019s plastic pipe stands reflect that commitment. After the tests, we rated this pipe stand at 13,000 lbs. (5,897 kg.). What\u2019s even better,\u00a0 it sells for the same price as the 12″ – 24″ stand it replaces.<\/p>\n
For hotter environments, we have also created a pipe stand that can be used in ambient heat where temperatures can exceed 98 degrees F or 37 degrees C.\u00a0 They have been used in Australia, Africa and warmer climates worldwide. They have more resin for added stability and are coloured white to repel the heat.<\/p>\n
